Lee Watson Leads Mid-American Aerospace & Defense Summit Discussion on Cyber & Counterintelligence

Forge Institute founder and CEO Lee Watson hosted a breakout session at the Mid-American Aerospace & Defense Summit on Thursday (June 16, 2022), leading a discussion titled “Current Cybersecurity Risks to Aerospace & Defense.”

“The increase in use of technology and the growing sophistication of data-based adversaries are contributing to the growing threat to our aerospace and defense industries,” explained Watson, who appeared via special invitation from Chad Causey, Executive Director of the Arkansas Aerospace & Defense Alliance. “I appreciate Chad inviting me to be a part of this important discussion to talk not only about the threats but ways we can mitigate risks to our intellectual property and national security.”

Forge Institute is an established leader in cyberdefense and data security. Watson’s insight from within the cybersecurity community provided a clearer understanding of threats posed by the darkest corners of the world wide web and tied cybersecurity risks to the growing counterintelligence threats poised by nation-state actors.

Mr. Causey will be in attendance at the Forge Institute’s Sumit this October, where members of the private, public and cyber sectors will meet to discuss data security at a very high level.

”The Arkansas Aerospace & Defense Alliance is pleased to partner with Forge Institute to advance cybersecurity capability and raise awareness of counterintelligence threats in support of our growing Defense Industrial Base (DIB) here in Arkansas,” said Mr. Causey.

Under Mr. Causey’s leadership, the Alliance and the Mid-American Aerospace & Defense Summit have seen incredible growth – directly contributing to expanding Arkansas’ role as a State committed to its military and national security missions. By working together, we can raise Arkansas’ profile, lower the risk from cyber threats, and further develop the economic environment to support high-paying jobs in support of our Nation’s defense.
