Position Description:

We are actively seeking a Grants Manager who comes with a rich backdrop in the meticulous management of federal, state & foundation grants. Your role will be pivotal in tracing the trajectory of Forge Institute’s goals through adept grant management, from writing and submitting proposals to managing budgets and ensuring compliance and reporting. A detail-oriented approach coupled with exceptional project management skills will be your compass in steering us to fruitful endeavors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Grant Proposal Development:

    • Writing: Craft persuasive grant proposals articulating Forge Institute's vision and objectives succinctly.

    • Research: Undertake extensive research to identify potential grant opportunities aligning with our mission.

  • Submission and Management:

    • Timely Submission:Ensure timely submission of all grant proposals, adhering to strict deadlines, budgets and requirements. 

    • Database Management: Maintain a comprehensive database of all grants, including status, timelines, and necessary documentation.

  • Compliance and Reporting:

    • Compliance: Monitor all grant processes to ensure strict compliance with federal and state regulations.

    • Reporting: Generate detailed reports to maintain transparency and adhere to grant stipulations.

  • Project Management:

    • Planning: Develop detailed project plans outlining the goals, timelines, and budget.

    • Coordination: Collaborate closely with various departments ensuring the smooth execution of grant-related projects.


Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience

  • Proven experience of a minimum of 2-5 years in event planning, marketing or operations

  • Be a Google Workspace (gmail, calendar, drive, slides, spreadsheets) whiz

  • Understand and regularly use Generative AI/LLMs  to improve speed and efficiency

  • Maintain high-level of discretion, confidentiality and trust

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, partners, customers & users

  • Demonstrated integrity

  • Proactive and self-starter mentality

  • Very detailed oriented (ie. won’t let something out the door that isn’t ready)

  • Takes direction well


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with General Ledger/Accounting systems like Quickbooks &/or DCAA

  • Experience with CRM platforms, such as Hubspot

  • Experience with Project Management (Agile/Scrum/etc.) & tools like Asana & Spreadsheets

  • Experience pulling together data and running reports

  • Strong storytelling skills

  • The ideal candidate is highly organized and can manage multiple projects and competing priorities at once

  • Professional client-facing demeanor, comfortable in front of any stakeholder

  • Capable of completing tasks on time without supervision
