Forge Institute partners with the Arkansas Department of Education to provide Statewide Virtual Cybersecurity Training for All District and School Technology Staff

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas, October 6, 2020. Today Forge Institute announced a partnership with the Arkansas Department Education to provide virtual cybersecurity training to district and school technology staff across Arkansas. With the increase in cyber-criminal activity and a portion of instruction being taught online, there was not a better time for these two organizations to come together and provide the necessary training to help upskill the professionals that defend education systems from disruptive cyber-attacks.

Forge Institute has leveraged its robust cadre of professional cybersecurity instructors, cloud-based training environment and virtual delivery capability to provide an eight-part course that covers concepts necessary for first-line cyber defenders. Key tools and techniques will be demonstrated using cloud-based systems and participants will learn a variety of cybersecurity and risk management topics that will directly aid their efforts in securing school infrastructure.

“Unfortunately, 2020 has proven to be a difficult year for our students, teachers, staff, and families. COVID-19 has created an environment where cyber-criminals have increased attacks causing disruption in education. This partnership with Forge Institute is one of the many steps we are taking to enhance our cybersecurity posture and better defend student data while increasing the resiliency of education delivery.” Don Benton, Assistant Commissioner of Research and Technology, Arkansas Department of Education

“We are excited to partner with ADE to provide training for district and school technology staff across Arkansas. Our team developed a unique training course that covers essential concepts in network defense and will provide participants with the tools, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) they need to help keep our schools, staff and students’ information more secure.” - Lee Watson, Chief Executive Officer of Forge Institute
